I'm a college student and currently rocking a 2003 Acura cl type-s with a 6 speed. I'm a huge wagon fan and I want a fast wagon for my next car (which will probably be in 3-6 years from now), but I'm not quite sure what I want to get. For the past little while, I've been really liking the Volvo V70R because of its 300 hp turbocharged inline 5 with awd and it looks pretty cool, but I'm wondering if there are any better and possibly newer/easier to find options out there that I should consider. My budget will be probably around 10 grand, but I'll consider anything under $15k depending on what it is. I've also looked into a saab 9-3x wagon but they're incredibly hard to find and I think it's a little underpowered for what I want. Here's some of the criteria that are important: - under $15k - able to find them with under 150k miles (preferably under 100k but as long as they'll last another 70-100k miles it's not a big deal) - awd (preferably) or at least rwd - ideally available in a manual trans but not required - fairly reliable - 2004 or newer (the newer the better) - fast and actually fun to drive - cool looking I like to do as much research as I can on cars before I choose what I want because I wanna get the best car for my money so I like to have all the options I can. Any insight is welcome, thanks!

I have always liked the Volvo SUV's but my favorite is the Volvo XC60. It is really one of the best looking midsize SUVs, but it also has a heavy price tag. In same price scale as BMW X3/X4 and Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC/GLE. Volvo is up there on top of the luxury segment, but what about built quality? The 2020 Volvo XC60 looks stunning...

Best Electric Cars: These Are the Next Wave of ultra-Luxury Electric Cars Entering the Market—and They Don’t Disappoint From the neofuturistic Bentley EXP 100 GT to the $2 million Croatian-born Rimac C Two, these electric vehicles take energy efficient technology to new heights and lightning-quick speeds. We at Schoolpluscareer are pleased to show you the Best Electric Cars: Next Wave of Ultra-Luxury Electric Cars Entering the Market—and They Don’t Disappoint. Electric cars are coming, in numbers, and from car companies that may be surprising to you. But one of the most surprising things about battery-powered cars is that electricity can be applied equally well to parsimony—eking out mileage frugally—as to performance. Because electric motors create instant torque—the thrusty twist that provides our sense of speed when we press the go pedal—and because they do so in quiet a rush, they have an amazing application in the world of ultra-luxury super cars. Last month, at the automotive and lifestyle bacchanal known as Monterey Car Week, a fresh handful of these exclusive—and, in some cases, ephemeral—electric-powered super cars were unveiled. Here are some of our top favorites. See the electric cars, their pictures and short videos here: 1. Bentley EXP 100 GT Bentley’s beautifully fantastic vision for what driving—and autonomous driving—will look like in 2035 is expressed in this honking grand touring coupe. With more than 1,100 lb.-ft. of thrust powering it, it should hustle from zero to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. This is a concept car, so price is irrelevant. 2. Aston Martin Valhalla This spectral wedge derives its prodigious 1,000 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged V6 gas engine and a sophisticated hybrid-electric system. Only 500 will be built, at a price north of $1 million each. Agent 007 gets to drive one, along with a vintage Aston Martin DB5, in the next installment of the James Bond movie franchise. 3. Drako GTE With an electric motor powering each of the four wheels, this slick four-door sedan from California automotive startup Drako Motors is expected to crest 200 m.p.h. at its top end. All that speed will cost you. Prices are estimated at $1.25 million each. 4. Karma Pininfarina Karma grew from the ashes of designer Henrik Fisker’s nameseake Aughties car company Fisker. If this elegant coupe, designed by famed Italian coach builders Pininfarina, is any indication, we like its new direction. A tiny three-cylinder turbo engine and two electric motors provide 550 horsepower total. Limited production may be announced, depending on interest. 5. Lotus Evija Famed British sports car company Lotus is being revived under the fiscal aegis of Chinese industrial giant Geely (which also owns Volvo). This stunner packs 1,972 horsepower, granting it the capacity to run from zero to 60 m.p.h. in 2.5 seconds with slightly more than a 200 m.p.h. top speed and a 250-mile range. Only 130 will be made, and each will cost $1.86 million. 6. Rimac C Two Rimac hopes to put its native Croatia on the global automotive map with this 1,914 horsepower electric supercoupe, which it says can accelerate from zero to 60 in 1.85 seconds with an alleged top speed of 258 m.p.h. The company claims that all 150 cars in the planned run have been sold, at a price of over $2 million each. 7. VW ID Buggy Volkswagen has been introducing a number of retro, electric-powered vehicles over the past couple of years, in part as penance for its cheating Dieselgate scandal. This one mines the history of the VW Beetle–based Meyers Manx dune buggy but with battery power. And while not in any way a supercar, we think it’s super. All, I need to replace the transmission on my 2006 XC90 v8, with about 140k miles. Would you recommend using: a general auto repair shop that specializes in Volvo (former dealer techs, Volvos are only loaner cars, 95% of all cars in the lot are Volvos), OR a transmission specialist shop that works on all makes and models. If you could provide the reasons for your recommendation, that would be very helpful. Thank you so much, JPG.

Ford, Toyota, BMW, Subaru, Volvo, Honda and Mercedes-Benz are planning routine shutdowns at their factories, including those in the United States that started after December 21 and are expected to resume production on 2nd,January. Nissan will follow a similar shutdown schedule, but will resume production on 3rd,January. The additional shutdown period of Lansing Grand River Plant will prepare for the new production shift model starting in mid-January. People familiar with the situation said that the Lansing Grand River plant has had two production shifts and plans to cancel one. Although the assembly line operates faster, the body and spray painting will continue to maintain two production shifts. The Lansing plant employs about 1,900 people and has stopped producing ATS cars since June. Production of Cadillac CTS is expected to end in the near future with the commissioning of CT5. Chevrolet Cormelo's sales showed a double-digit decline in 2018. The situation of the whole international automobile industry is not good, leading to the closure or shutdown of most automobile factories. As the largest pump manufacturer in China, Xixia Water Pump and its pump production subsidiary also bear certain pressure. But we have a large customer base and are not affected by it as a whole.

In the past, Polestar models, such as this high-powered S60 derivative, included the Volvo logo. That won't be the case in the future. Volvo will challenge Tesla Motors and BMW's i subbrand by turning its Polestar unit into a global stand-alone brand for high-performance electrified models. “With Polestar, we are able to offer electrified cars to the world's most demanding, progressive drivers in all market segments,” Volvo CEO

Hello all!! First off, thank you for taking some of your time to look at my post. Some background info...I have somewhat minimal knowledge about cars. So I'm trying to see what I should get as my first car. I've narrowed it down to two cars. I've been looking at Audi A3 2015 and Volvo S60. I'm not exactly sure which one to get so I want to see what you all think and why. Also, if I were to get the one you suggested, please do tell me which options I should be including just so I know what to add on if I do get that one. I hope what I'm asking isn't too broad or too much. :S If you have any other information, please do let me know! As of now, I'm kinda leaning onto the Audi A3 2015 due to a few reasons. It's cheaper, nicer looking and seems to be much more powerful. Once again, thank you for taking the time to look at this and help me with this situation!

Hi, I drive a 2002 Volvo S40 1.8 and the remote central locking needs some attention. My friend has a simular car which flashes the lights twice when you press unlock on the key and then flashes once when you lock the car with the button on the key. My car does flash twice when you unlock it with the remote locking but does not flash again when you lock it. The car is fully armed and the only way to open it is with the key itself but I fear there is a problem and reason why the lights do not flash when you lock it. When the car is locked you can move about inside and the alarm won't go off and there is a little led lamp on the dashboard which apparently should flash red when the alarm is on but again that doesn't flash. When I bought the car, inside the envelope of paperwork was what I believe to be a fuse, small with two prongs coming out and pinky colour plastic at the top and a small washer was there too, could this have been removed from the locking unit or alarm and be why the alarm doesn't seem to work? I would be grateful for any feedback and try any suggested options as I don't fancy having a car with a potentially disabled alarm! Many thanks.
