  1. So ran across this... way too much money in Dubai... they even have an Aventador as a police car!? http://www.classybro...o-police-force/
  2. Lamborghini is on a bit of a naming spree. Back in April, it was revealed that the Italian automaker (and hopeful SUV maker, too...) put its legal stamp on the names Urus and Deimos, the first of which, as you're likely aware by now, is the moniker adopted for the concept version of its future sport utility vehicle. Deimos, on the other hand, has yet to grace any bullish Italian supercars, at least none shown to the public, so we're curious to see where that ends up. Muddying waters even further is a report from Car and Driver that Lamborghini has also recently trademarked the name Huracán. Huracán, in case you hadn't made the connection yourselves, is the Spanish word for hurricane, but it's also the name of a Mayan god of fire, wind and storms, according to C&D. That dovetails nicely with Deimos, which was the name of a terrifying mythological Greek god. What either of these as-yet unused names has to do with Spanish bulls or matadors (if anything), we have no idea. We also can't say with any certainty what future Lambos, concept or production, will be graced by these names. But we certainly look forward to finding out.

  22. The LaFerrari is powered by both a V12 and electric motor. The V12 pumps out a menacing 800hp, and the HY-KERS electric motor produces an extra 163hp, bringing the total power output to 963hp. The 6262 cc V12 used in the LaFerrari is the most powerful naturally-aspirated engine ever used in a Ferrari road car. Combined torque from both engines is over 663 lb-ft, meaning this car has at least 178 lb-ft of torque more than the Enzo. But what could handle such a powerful heart? How about an F1 dual-clutch gearbox? Yeah, that will do the trick. Also 0-60mph will be accomplished in under 3 seconds. Just thought I’d throw that little tidbit in there, not that that’s an impressive number or anything… All of this power would be no good if this car was a heavy hunk of metal, but did you really think Ferrari would let that happen? The LaFerrari has a bodyshell made entirely of carbon fiber, with some extras thrown in. For example: underneath the driver and passenger, Kevlar is woven into the carbon fiber. What is Kevlar? Oh you know, the stuff that stops bullets. Ferrari plans on building 499 of these beautiful creatures, but sadly all of them have been purchased already. It looks like you may have to wait for one of the owners to get bored of their LaFerrari in order to buy one… But really, do you think anyone is ever going to get bored of this thing? Doubtful. But if they do get bored of it, I'm sure we will see it here on duPont REGISTRY. Details on the LaFerrari (I hate saying "the LaFerrari") are a bit vague in certain areas right now. Ferrari has given us the exciting details, like the performance numbers, engine, and whatnot, but it may be a little bit until we get a full-blown review on this amazing car.
