  1. I am a teenager, looking for a used either SUV, truck or sedan(Preferably a SUV or truck). I have up to $35k but I would love to keep it under $32k. I live in the Northeast so it needs to have AWD or 4WD. Also I don't like Asian cars, I just don't think they look nice. Reliability is not really an issue. Mostly looking for a car with good looks and good features. I've been mostly looking at 2012-2014 Grand Cherokees, Explorers and F-150s.
  2. I own a 1992 Jeep Wrangler that I'm currently trying to fix up. A major problem is that my the gauges and lights on my dashboard don't work correctly. My MPH and RPM gauges work fine, but my gas gauge and the three gauges next to it don't. they just sit at about a 1/4 full. Also the lights on my dashboard don't turn on when my headlights are on. So like when I'm driving at night with my headlights on my dashboard is pitch black. The lights have come on randomly before, but then don't work again the next time i drive with my headlights. Can anyone tell me how to fix these problems to help me on the path to getting my car like new again? Thank you!

    Fiat Coupe

So I'm currently looking to get a coupe and so far my top choice so far is buying a Fiat Coupe 2.0 20v Turbo Plus (Limited Edition) for its uniqueness and rarity. I'm also looking into the TT, Celica or MX as my other options. So lets stick with the Fiat Coupe for now (though I'll take other advice/suggestions on-board) I've searched high and low for reviews, of which haven't really helped me at all. So I'm now asking on here for a decent and honest answer to my question. The car is in an immaculate condition (from what I've seen anyways), its got 118000 miles on the clock. Had a new clutch at 106000, new cam belt at 102000 and a new turbo at 86000. I've read that though generally the car is amazing, the coupe can suffer from electrical issues and that repairs are costly due to lack of parts. So any help would be appreciated, again an honest answer, not just a 'Yes, do it' or 'Look, I have one so...' Thanks
  4. Hi everyone, I have recently purchased a 1983 BMW 318i and am looking to fix it up a. I need the hennarot red/orange paint (code 052) and I have looked everywhere online for it but is only in America and i live in Australia, please help it would be fantastic, sylvo.
  5. Alright, so I bought a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am for a really good price considering the damage it has, and I'm working on fixing it. I've read about drilling holes and using Bondo, using a hot glue gun, and some other methods, but I'm not sure what would work best for this situation. It's the rear passenger door and it's almost completely smashed in (see images). I've looked at just buying a new door completely, but I couldn't find any places online that have a complete door for sale. I also have the side-molding that goes on the door. So, what's best for this situation, Bondo? Hot Glue? Drilling a hole and pulling it out? Or buying a new door (last resort). I'm willing to put money into the car as I only payed $200 for it and everything is running smoothly and the interior and all of the exterior (with exception to the door) is perfect. Thanks to any suggestions that you may have!
  6. Okay to start off with I drive a 2003 Saab 9-3. also it is an automatic trans. The problem I am experiencing is that every so once in a while when I am accelerating, or just cruising, my car will rev (the RPMs) go up and I lose speed, then I about 3 sec. it will make a small jerk and the RPMs and speed will go back to the way I was driving before. The best way that I can explain the feeling is (when you are in manual shift and you are at a constant speed in 3rd gear, and you move to second gear without decelerating. and there is the high engine rev noise) Please help me troubleshoot my problem.. thanks!

    Rear View Mirror

I just bought a new 2000 Ford Focus ZX3 and it had some super lame monster stickers on the rear view mirror. So I took it off (just the mirror part), and scraped off the stickers. Simple enough, right? It was going well until I tried to put the mirror back onto it's ball joint. Let's just say I haven't got the mirror back on yet. This seems super easy to do but I just cannot do it. Anyone have any tips, tricks, or other methods for snapping the mirror back onto the ball joint? Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi I'm hugs. I just got a pizza delivery job at Cottage Inn..i make around 600-800$ a week delivering pizza... I'm 24, have no credit, have no savings. But I really friggin want a new car. I drive a matrix 2006 toyota..a "mom car" and its 105,000 miles.. I want to sell it before it starts breaking down. And I also want to buy a brand new 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo. Which, fully accessorized, as I want it, will cost 40,000$. I really badly badly want it. Its wicked cool. I am just looking for advice...I want the car..but I know its a bit out of my price range. I'm kind of going on a "life is too short not to have a badass car" kind of logic.. But I don't want this expense to ruin me. I can push for possibly 40-50 hours a week, (5.00 per hour, and make usually 100$ in tips per shift). I just ask the advice because I'm super torn about whether to buy it or not. Its way expensive but I want it way badly. I could sell the matrix and maybe get a payment plan as low as 500$ per month.. I live with my parent at the moment and do have plans on moving to an appartment. Please help!! I really am looking for reasons why I could possibly do this and why it wouldnt be so horrible to buy it. (no there isnt a cheaper alternative i'm interested in, and no I don't think i could find a older year of the same car that I want, in the same color)

    Car buying help.

Hi everybody. I need some opinions. I've had my license for about a year, and I'm going to be needing a car before I move off to college. I'm moving from California to Kansas within a year or two. I have no preferences other than: 4wd, decent gas mileage(~20mpg) and reliable. Could settle for a small truck or a jeep-type vehicle. Also, being a soon-to-be college student I have a measly budget of around $10k. Any opinions and explanations are welcome. Thank you all!
  11. Hey guys, I am not a regular here or anything but would really appreciate some information. Car: 1998 Chevy Malibu My stereo was literally ripped out of my console and stolen ( broken window and all,anyway.. ), and the brackets where the potential new stereo would screw into it have been compromised and completely broken. My question: How do I replace these? Is the replacement pretty much the entire console? or I there an affordable fix? I have no idea what t even look up on google to find the parts Pictures Below! Looking forward to some helpful replies ,Thanks! - Andrew
  12. There is a rattle on the back of my 52 ford fiesta zetec. I had a look and the silver metal that is folder around the fuel tank has rusted off at the bolt. Is this an urgent fix? Also would I be able to get it welded back on or will it be a ridiculously expensive thing to sort?
  13. I have a 2005 Chevy Aveo. The interior lights and radio will not power on. It used to work and we started having electrical problems with the car. Sometimes the air conditioner won't come on but sometimes when it stops working and you hit a bump it will turn on. I have checked the fuses and I am pretty sure that they are not blown. The metal thing inside of the fuse for the radio is still connected. Any ideas on how to fix it? We did have to put a new battery in it a few months ago but I'm pretty sure we had problems before that. If the problem is a short wire how would I fix that? Thanks!
  14. I am in the market for a new car. The only problem is, I am SUUUPER indecisive. That's probably because I am picky as hell... I need help!

I have a 350 chevy small block in my 79 camaro and the power steering belt is constantly slackening. I have not driven the car more than a few hundred yards because its not yet street legal so it is not becoming loose due to it just stretching like normal over the first 100 miles. I have a brand new power steering belt and have replaced the power steering pump as well. i have tightened the belt twice now after i have just run the car for a couple minutes without it going anywhere and each time it slips back to where it is loose again. I have tightened all the bolts and it keeps doing it so I'm not sure what to do now. Any and all answers or advice are appreciated. thanks!

    Bought an AMC Spirit

I recently bought a 1981 AMC spirit to restore and eventually modify to become my own. New to AMC, any suggestions or useful help?
  18. Hello, My dad and I have been recently looking at new cars for him and I thought it would be a good idea to ask here. My dad leases cars so he gets a new one every three years. He recently turned in his 2010 Range Rover for a 2013 Range Rover. He does not think that he will want another Range for his next car, as we are a little bored with them. He thinks that he will also downgrade to a sedan instead of an SUV. We have been considering the new Tesla Model S, BMWs, Mercedes and now the new Maserati Ghibli. His price limit is about $90k but if its a really cool car I'm sure he would going up to 95k. Also the car need to have an optional AWD because we live in New England. Last it need to comfortable fit 4 adults. Thanks for any suggestions. -A fellow car lover

  20. I am in the market for a new car and I am torn over a couple of options, and need some assistance. Especially with the debate on Ford EcoBoost vs. Chevy Flex-Fuel engines (as pertaining to CARS not SUVS/TRUCKS) Which is more reliable? Better gas mileage? (CARS not SUV's) Overall better rating?? Can you please tell me your favorite and why? 1) 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium (Turbo FWD) Vs. New 2014 Chevy Impala LT (3.6L V6) 2) 2013 Ford Taurus SEL vs. 2013 Chevy Malibu LTZ If you have any other opinions on cars that are not chevy or ford, please let me know...I have also been looking at the 2014 Mazda 6...I heard there is a turbo Diesel engine coming out soon?

need a bit of help please!!

i have a 1994 honda accord ex has a v-tech engine 4 cylinders. my question is a simple one. i want to put a performance chip in my car but don't know what kind of chip to put in to enhance my cars speed. what chip is recommended? i need the exact name or where to find it please and thank you.
  23. I don't know if this is the right site to ask this or the right section to post it in, but here goes... My mom has an 84 trans am, that's nearly in perfect running condition. She just took me for a small drive in it yesterday, and I'm kind of concerned for her safety (and that of her passengers). Everything works great except for the brakes. Plus she needs a new alternator. I don't know if this is important but the engine is a 350 and a beast one at that. Anyway the brakes...my mom told me there really hard to push first of all. And I know from riding with her that they don't work all that well, as they barely stop the car. Sometime she has to take a gamble and go through stop signs if she comes up to fast on them, because she just can't stop soon enough. When she wants to stop or slow down I notice that she first pumps the brakes then pushes them all the way in, like shes trying to go right through the floor. And when she does this they make a sound like their letting air out. I know almost nothing about cars, but i was thinking there was some kind of leak somewhere, and she might need to replace the brakes themselves (there about as old as the car I think). Oh, and when she accelerates there is a whistle kind of noise from the engine, I don't if that's normal or a problem, but I'm certainly curious about it. So my question is why do the brakes hiss when she pushes on them and how can we determine the origin of the noise?
