  1. Hey there, I own a 2014 Ford Mustang V6 automatic and she's given me a little trouble the past couple of days. If you'd like to skip to the questions it's in parenthesis at the end. So to update you on its history my car was making a deeper exhaust sound than normal. There was a also a slight bit of power loss but almost unnoticeable. Doing a little research I nailed it down to my catalytic converter. The code I got was a P0420. Before replacing it and spending a few hundred bucks on 2 new catys I attempted to clean them out by using a method I saw by Scotty Kilmer on YouTube. He suggested pouring a gallon of lacquer thinner down the gas tank on a half full tank, and so I did. I followed his instructions but noticed no difference and it was still making the deep irregular puffing exhaust sound. 2 days after poured the lacquer thinner my baby was choking. I had 4 error codes come up P0300, P0301, P0302, and P0303. I had extreme power loss, acceleration delay was insane, couldn't pass certain rpms even on full throttle on certain gears almost all of them, there was a clanking sound at high rpm's around 5,000, I could feel the misfires. I took it to a mechanic and he recommended going to a muffler shop and removing or replacing the catalytic converters. So I followed his advice, I got it removed and replaced but just with a pipe. It solved almost every problem. (The car works beautifully now accept on the 5th and 6th gear even on full throttle the car cannot pass 2,000 - 2,500 rpms and the fastest she goes is 90mph which is not normal. I just cleared the old codes so I don't know if one will pop up eventually but I have 2 questions. Is it safe to keep driving my car in this condition usually the fastest I go on highways is 70 - 80 mph. Secondly I want to know where the issue could be.) Thank you all.
  2. Hi all, I've got an F80 M4 on order and am already considering what to do to it when it gets delivered. I've found this company through Google: http://www.mulgari.com/bmw-m3-m4-tuningand spoke to them the other day. They seem to know what they're doing and even put me in touch with someone they'd just installed a similar system for. I was just wondering if anyone here has any experience with Akrapovic parts, ideally exhausts. Are they as good as everyone seems to think? It's not like they're cheap (at all) so I want to be sure I'm making the right decision. Thanks in advance for any help.
  3. What all is involved in the stang to make the roush exhaust sound like it does. Please inform me of every part I need for the engine to the exhaust tip.
  4. I have a stock 2009 Pontiac G6 GT couple and I have bought a cold air intake and a Magnaflow exhaust. Should I a buy a Jet performance chip and how much power gain can I expect with just the intake and exhaust and how much with all 3? It has 219 stock HP. I'm not trying to be a rice burner. I just want it to sound good and have a little power. Thanks
  5. Hello everyone. I have a 1994 Chevy S10 pickup and for some time now I have had a lot of multiple problems with my S10. About 2-3 months ago I replaced the transmission in my pickup and ever since then my truck has been acting strange. I will list some of the symptoms. 1: Vehicle has trouble accelerating and RPM's aren't stable. 2: Idols very rough when sitting at a stop light or sitting in park. 3: When accelerating, vehicle will sometimes back fire under pressure and make a spitting sound on the drivers side. I have done a lot of repairs on the vehicle. I have replaced the O2 sensor near the catolic converter, replaced old intake manifold gaskets, replaced exhaust pipe donuts and have also welded and repaired all hole damage to tail pipe. There are NO exhaust leaks that I can smell, see, or feel. I also replaced a digital part on top of the engine on the passenger side next to the valve cover, I think it had something to do with the vacuum lines and I replaced it but I do not remember the name of the part. I even reset the vehicles computer after replacing these parts. I replaced the hole spark plug system and all vacuum lines have been replaced as well. But the vehicle still runs bad. Any help is much appreciated. Thank You Kevin
  6. I have an 03 Focus and I decided to get a bolt on chrome exhaust tip. It is a DC Sports tip from Advanced Auto. I figured for 20 bucks, can't beat it. I know it wasn't made to be loud, but it looks better than stock and took 15 minutes to install. If I'm not mistaken it has a baffle, right? The black "mesh" looking interior. I will post pics later.
