The Nigerian car industry is one that can be described as dynamic – dynamic in the sense that the industry comprises of several sectors, sectors which are further broken down into smaller sectors which have their own unique intricacies. Some of the participants in these sectors include Car Importers, Manufacturers, Spare Parts Dealers, locally used car sellers, among many others. All sectors existing to varying degrees of the economy. The auto industry is a very significant part of Nigeria’s economy as it employs and is a source of livelihood for millions of its citizens. It cannot be denied that the industry has grown significantly especially in the last two decades. However, there is so much room for improvement. The improvement must be a collaborative effort from the government and stakeholders. From the government, it would require enacting concrete policies that are geared towards creating a robust, independent and empowered economy for the benefit of the citizens. And for citizens(industry stakeholders) they would have to take advantage of the opportunities and policies the government will create and desist from practices that are detrimental to the progress of the economy.
