Hello all, I'm conducting a research on car retailing and consumers. This project examines people's point of view and opinions on buying cars using different retail channels. I'm trying to collect data using a questionnaire for numerical analysis, and the results of this research can maybe provide an insight to players in the car retail industry alike. Since anyone who's bought a car or thinks of buying one can answer, car users and sellers alike can answer, regardless of whatever car you use/sell. Are you able to help me? Hi, I'm new to car buying and am planning to purchase my first vehicle (used Volvo) in the next couple of months. I have done some research and generally, it seems that paying cash for a car is a bad idea when buying from a dealership, as it can drive the prices up since you aren't paying the extra from financing. However, I am strictly looking to buy a used vehicle, and wanted to know if offering to pay cash to a dealership (instead of financing) would give me any advantage in the price negotiation?
