  1. I have a 2014 peugeot partner tepee petrol (1.6L engine). I drove it on a 10 minute journey yesterday and the engine misfired once. I didn't think it was something to worry about at first but then went on a 40 minute journey down the motorway later the same day. It happened again a couple of times which started to worry me, and then when I was about to come off the motorway, it did it again and this time the check engine light came on. I pulled over and the fan on the car was working really hard after I turned the engine off for a while, but the temperature gauge on the dashboard didn't say it was overheating (it was slightly higher than normal but it was also a hot day). I had recently had to top the oil up because the oil light had come on, but there had been no obvious oil leak anywhere so I had just topped it up and continued to run it, assuming that it was just burning a bit of oil. I had to get it back to my house (20 miles) so I drove very slowly a non-motorway route, using the accelerator as little as possible. I pulled over a couple of times to turn the engine off briefly and the second time, the check engine light didn't come back on. I continued to drive slowly and got home with no more misfires or problems and the fan was quiet when I stopped. I'm going to take it to a garage later today but want to have as much information as possible before I go to avoid getting ripped off as I'm quite new to the area (Gloucester) and so will be risking going to a new garage for the first time. I don't like to go with no information at all so if this sounds like a particular problem it would be great to know in advance, or at least have an idea of some of the most likely causes.
