My son has a 2011 Dodge Caravan with high miles (300k something, it's one of his work vehicles and he does a lot of out of town jobs). He recently took it to a dealer for an oil change,. Besides first putting in the wrong oil and then forgetting the additive he ordered, he says they spilled oil all over inside the engine compartment, which he discovered when he drove home and oil was burning and the alternator went out. He replaced the alternator last night but the car wouldn't start (battery voltage dropped only to about 9.5-ish when he was cranking, he had a battery pack connected and I happened to be watching it) and said tonight on the phone it looks like multiple electrical systems are shot. The dealership claims this was sheer coincidence. Thoughts?
