I am looking at a 2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid limited AWD 165,000 miles. The seller is asking $2900 which seems to be a great deal. I have been doing alot of research and have found that there was a problem with the inverter going bad and costing more than the car is worth to replace. I also checked the Carfax and there are no open recalls. My questions are... Is this really something to worry about? (The car has 165,000 miles. If this was a problem wouldn't the inverter have already gone bad? If I needed to fix this could I do it myself? (I have little knowledge about cars but am always ready to learn) should I still get this car? Thanks. Any help is much appreciated.
