2010 Ford Focus oil temp gauge reading hot

Recommended Posts

My 2010 Ford Focus oil temperature gauge started reading hot this evening. It is smoking. Once we leave it off for 10 minutes it’ll go back to normal but after 5 minutes it goes back to hot. We found the coolant was out so we tried that and it got hotter faster that way.

What could the problem possibly be?

It happens sometimes when you are driving a vehicle that is overheating yet at the same time has coolant, as, on account of having a flawed indoor regulator, the high temperatures can make the liquid catalyst bubble, grow, and cause extreme weight inside the radiator hoses.
