The 2019 Cadillac Escalade is back in black with Sport Edition

Caddy’s big bad SUV gets a blacked-out limited-edition model.

The 2019 Escalade didn’t get a ton of attention from the (re)designers at Cadillac, so the recent announcement of the Sport Edition, a blacked-out limited-edition model of the award-winning full-size suv the brand calls “a bold new look for those who aren’t afraid of the dark” was welcome news to Caddy evangelists.

The changes are almost entirely cosmetic, but for a vehicle as visually statement-making as the Escalade, that’s probably enough.

The Escalade Sport Edition is the first limited-edition model offered in the current-gen of Cadillac’s full-size SUV. It’s available as a US$2,700 option on Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum models and features a gloss black exterior trim that bleeds onto the grilles, window moldings, body side moldings and beyond, plus 22-inch wheels finished in Midnight Silver.

“Two decades after its introduction, the Escalade remains the segment’s benchmark and sales leader,” said Steve Carlisle, Cadillac president, in a press release. “The Sport Edition extends that momentum in response to customer and dealer demand for a dark and aggressive look.”

Other than the new shoes and shading, this is a standard 2019 Escalade. The proven 6.2-litre V8 engine pushes its 420 hp to either the rear two or all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. That’ll get the black beauty from the hitching post to a full 100-km/h gallop in 6.3 seconds. It’s also outfitted with Cadillac’s magnetic ride control that functions through the three selectable drive modes.

Interior-wise, we’re looking at all the modern standards offered by Cadillac, including: auto-park assist; heated and cooled front- and second-row bucket seats; a heated, leather-and-wood-accented steering wheel; a 12.3-inch-diagonal instrument cluster; and power-folding third-row seats.

Cadillac will make the Escalade Sport Edition available in the first quarter of 2019.

The vast the majority who graduate from technician universities will proceed to function as a worker at Cadillac garage. In any case, those with an enterprising soul may choose to open their very own auto fix carport. What's more, this business-disapproved of people are without a doubt mindful that beginning a carport starting with no outside help includes significantly something beyond fixing autos.
