Vauxhall Astra vs Ford Focus

This is a well know fewd, but what does everyone think - the Astra or Focus.

 

Apparently the new Astra Tech Line model is supposed to be a new way of Vauxhall getting back on top and overtaking its American rival, but we drove one recently and didn't think it lived up to it's reputation.

 

But what does everyone else think? Let us know, it will help writing stuff for our site

Depending on the model, I'd probably go with the ford focus. But they're both high mpg and very economical options it just depends on your interest in the body style and your preference in company whether it be the reputation in how it lasts or maintenence necessary. Also, I feel like the Ford Focus probably has a more powerful engine with more torque.
