CuzzinVon 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Hello Everyone, I'm looking for my first car. I'm looking for a 4 door tuner and maybe someone can point me to a track in NY. I really like EVO's but they're slightly too expensive for me right now I have a 15K budget and I don't mind buying a fixer upper as long as it can move. Isaac 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 You went from new car to tuner to track. What exactly are you looking for?
CuzzinVon 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 I'm looking for a car that i can drive everyday but has the power to be raced on a track.
bfeeney 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Well Honda is out since you would spend $10k so you wouldn't get humiliated at the track. I would say you could get a good used Mustang GT, Camaro Z28, or T/A for $15k but those are not newbie cars. Get something slower but has great potential now and once you get the hang of driving you can slowly upgrade it, then you can worry about the track. Elite_Deforce 1 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 You're getting a track car for a first car???
bfeeney 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Mazda 3 or 6? You are wanting to race a car with 4 doors? You REALLY limit your options. Of course you need to figure out what you want, a daily driver 4 door or a race car. It's hard to have both. If you want a race car get a coupe if you want a 'family' car get a sedan but don't expect to race it.

CuzzinVon 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 That is the response i seem to be getting all around well what I want is a street legal track car but something roomy if that is not at all possible then can some give me some tips.
dr. joint 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2010 Easy. Get an EVO. I hope you and your family like a stiff ride. Or better yet, I would try to befriend the neighborhood chiropractor.
bfeeney 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2010 What you want is a condradiction, A roomy, comfortable race car. You give up comfort for performance with a $15k price range.
2007DBR9 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2010 I can't think of anything in that price range that does comfortable AND track performance. Best I can come up with is a BMW 3 series because they have very good chassis and suspension so the basis are there - all you have to do is learn how to drive properly in it, then do it up so you can use it on a track. bfeeney 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2010 I know the BMW 3 series is prefered but what about the new 1 series? The 135i is a TT 300hp that borrows alot from the 3 series. Granted it's noware near $15k, I wouldn't turn it down.

The interior is not that great, and the ride in the hatch is horrible. 135i is nice though, aparantly it will give an M3 a run for it's money on a twistry road

But Im more intrigued with the 335i and it's got nothing to do with the folding roof and it being a coupe (coz i love coupes)lol To be honest I never thought BMW would turbocharge their gas engines but 300hp twin turbo inline-6 kinda reminds me of a japanese favorite..the Supra!
