I'm confused, how would that proportionally make sense?

Mustang is faster than hot hatches

Hot hatches cost around £20k

Mustang is dirt cheap in the States

Offer it around £20k and it will tempt hot hatch buyers away. Ford make a lot of money, we get a brilliant car for cheap.

Everyone wins. Besides the hot hatches.

It's confirmed. The Mustang will have the 5.0L engine for 2011. 412bhp, 390trq, 25mpg hwy. Life doesn't get sweeter.

Was talking with a guy that does engine software development with the majors, and he was relating that Ford's already seen 475-480 crank hp reliably with just a tune on the 5.0 running 93 octane. The stock headers, while excellent, are still restrictive. He says this motor needs 1 3/4" primaries and aftermarket 300cpi high flow cats or off-road mids vs an OEM 500-600cpi met. cat. to see major gains. The potential is there for 500 N/A crank hp without getting inside the engine...

Not only is this a good step up but also they are finally putting a real V6 in it from the MKS.
