Guest GermanImport
I think we might be on to something here... yeah i mean look at America... they won't let cars in unless they meet America specs for safety requirements and shit. Even though, european cars as example, have higher regulations. they still have to meet American regulations to import their cars here. Look at diesels. how many diesels do you imported to the US? not too many... mainly a few VW compact cars... nothing really else i can think of... they're thinking about trying the Subaru diesel boxers over here... Americans don't seem to like diesel...

Have yet to try one  The boxer diesel is a good one, very smooth.  American's don't know what they are missing, diesels in regular cars are brilliant. I reied the 3.2 petrol A4 and it didn't come close to the 3.0 TDI.

The state of California takes care of the diesel requirement shit for the entire US. They are pretty strict.

dr. joint
the shift to lighter, smaller but ultimately more potent 4bangers will benefit handling the most, because the weight distribution would not be compromised. imagine a 4cylinder twin charged FSI engine on a lighter S5 instead of the V8 with gobs of torque but has a hollow top end. cost would also be reduced, so is the cars MSRP. maintenance would also be cheaper (maybe just by a liitle) and fuel efficiency would be top notch (but would depend how the engine is tuned). the future looks bright my friends. 2007DBR9
These small turbo engines aren't as durable though. Turbos would need replaced frequently as well as other parts because the engine is constantly being worked so hard.
