... What's your point? We all know that!!

If the one he is looking at is an S-Line model then he should have no problems at all and the car should go on forever, like the Audi's over here do.

Not the ones here...

As far as I am aware, the standard models and the SE models are the ones to avoid over there, but the S-Line (top of the range models) are made in Germany like the Euro ones? So they should be good cars? Sorry if I am wrong on this...

No they are all pretty much rubbish. The only one to even consider is the 5, but even that has its flaws.

Any suggestions or powerful 4-cyl cars?

Impreza WRX, go STi if you REALLY want something.

Lancer, go Evo if you REALLY want something.

Personally, I really like the Mazdaspeed 3 (the cheaper of the 3 here...)

The Lancer is a horrible road car.

The Impreza (not the new one) and the Mazda3 are the only good candidates.

The Evo is not actually that bad. I thought the same as you until I went on a 200 mile trip as a passenger in one and it was fine!! Not as good as any of our Audi's, but still pretty damn good.

The Mazda 3 is not that good compared to it's rivals, but how many of them are avalible over there? What hot hatches can you get there?

And I have always preferred the Impreza to the evo

Maybe so, but the Evo is absolute garbage on paper. Horrible safety ratings, poor build quality, no gadgets, etc.

Don't know about you, but the Mazda3's we get are benchmark cars. The MS3 notably and the Sport (hatch) models are top pick.

Our Mazda3's are as follows:

The Mazdaspeed3 (obviously)

The sedan (saloon) with 152HP I4, great little car (manumatic automatic available)

The hatch (the Sport) a regular version of the MS3 with the 152HP engine.
