Caboose
I would hazard a guess Caboose might have an opinion on this.http://money.cnn.com/2007/11/01/autos/chry...anges/index.htm Have you ever seen anything that I don't have an opinion on? I am an opinionated sob. lol Yea I bought a Crossfire. On the test drive the car drove ok. After I got it home and started driving it daily, things started showing up I just didn't like. The trannie started acting up, then it started overheating, the top quit working. Chrome started to fall off. Handling was dreadful. the harder I drove it, the more it sucked. I gave the car to my daughter. It has been ok for her, but she is not the aggressive driver I am. She's a girl. I went down to Dodge to purchase an SRT8. I really wanted a Charger Rt but you can't get it with the 525hp Hemi. I test drove the SRT and their Autotouch tranny, or what ever the hell they called it. When we got back to the showroom and started building my car, I found out I couldn't get a six speed with a simple clutch. The price of the car was already at 50k and I couldn't get a clutch. I took my check and left. Until Chrysler starts building cars people want instead of cars they want to build, they are going to have problems. The Charger with a 525hp and a six speed would be an awesome automobile. I don't understand why any car company has to have 85 different models in their inventory. They should specialize like the rest of the world. There should be companies that make good little cars and companies that make good big cars. Why sell/ build cars that compete with your own cars. So, It makes you extremely happy that tens of thousands of Americans, many, whom aren't trained for any other job, will lose their jobs , and maybe their homes, just because you don't like a car. How very Canadian of you. Just because you don't like a car.

And for your information, I knew about the job cuts long before this and it wasnt souly because of the killing off of the crap-mobiles. It was because of the idiots at Cerebus that started think only about MOOONEY... greedy bastards... Oh yea, and a few un-American traitorous, soldier type fellows. So let me get this straight, your not really against the cars, You hate really hate "gasp" capitalism. I guess those greedy bastards didn't make enough money. They're having to lay off 12,000 people instead of building a different car order to save the company. That's what you do when your rolling in dough.

Goin2Slow
What makes you think that A) there would be job cuts, and Ex-Chryler-ions are unable to work elsewhere? Last I remember hearing Chrysler had annouced projected cuts of about 12,000 jobs. If they're UAW members I say they're getting what they deserve. IMHO the are probably the most overpaid and underworked union out there...... Caboose - I'm not excited about the job cuts, I just have a serious problem with unions. Caboose - I'm not excited about the job cuts, I just have a serious problem with unions. eI 'm not much of a union guy either. The union worked it's way into high wages and high medical, that has choked the life from the American automotive industry and now they're shocked because the company is laying off. 45% of the price of American Iron goes to union benefits. Cliffy, Gm closed down a plant here in OKC, about 4 years ago. 17,000 workers were laid off. Only about 800 found jobs, in an area of almost 1.2 million people. The rest had to go back to votech to retrain at the states expense. They're not to many jobs for people who load robots or screw on four bolts as a car goes by. The union just packed up and left town. About 1100 were offered jobs at other plants around the country. 3,300 took early retirement. That plant had the highest production and quality record, in the US. It was closed anyway.

From what I've read here, unions are much different in the States, lol...We have some very strong unions here! The RMT (Rail Maritime Transport) workers union is one that I might join, but as with a lot of people, I'm used to fighting my own battles and am not sure paying £13 per month would be worth my while, afterall, they fight for a pay rise and everybody gets it...so where's the point? (I know there's more to a union that increased wages, but you get the idea?). Way I see it is that if something isn't legal you can fight it, lol...We are talking about the same unions aren't we?
