Hambros
I want to calculate where it will be more profitable to charge my tesla, at charging stations or at home in the garage? Because now the price of electricity has gone up quite a lot. I was going to buy a new type of charger from the tesla to charge the electric car faster, but the current consumption will be higher. Olinserd
Much depends on the type of outlet installed in your home. I'll tell you right away that it's more profitable to charge at home, a few dollars will save. I have a NEMA 14-50 outlet at home, it takes 6-7 hours to fully charge the battery, cost about $8-9. But if you often travel far from home for work, you're better off using charging stations, especially Supercharger stations. These electric car charging stations achieve a full charge in 20-30 minutes. If you want more detailed figures, here is the Tesla charging cost calculator https://evadept.com/calc/tesla-supercharger-charging-cost-calculator where you can calculate everything in detail. By the way, given the current price of gasoline, the savings on Tesla battery charging is very large.
Hambros
Thank you, that Tesla is a great saving to our family budget, you are right. But when you travel, you can't find a place to charge the Tesla economically everywhere. And there are no 6 hours to fully charge the battery. Tesla Supercharger stations in North America, as I understand it, are already more than 1,000 units. I hope they will continue to expand. The calculator is quite useful
