BrakePad 0 Report post Posted April 14 Read the fine print. I put 65 pound braid on my spinning outfit. I tied a clinch with the braid to my fish finder rig. Here I come. I I tuned in. I still yet have to tune up. Once I’m tuned up properly. I’ll focus on my technique and tune in repeatedly as I’m going along. I caught a fish. What does that mean? BrakePad 0 Report post Posted April 14 I’m a proud member of the MS13 fishing organization. I literally have this rod over 20 years. I only need 3” of leader. The reel is rated for 15 pound mono. That’s what’s on the reel. I fish 4 and bait. I’m forced to use a 40 pound shock leader. Do I get good results? For a bank fisherman that dead sticks. I get excellent results. BrakePad 0 Report post Posted April 14 (edited) The Penn gs series were much better than the squidder. I like Penn gs over the Newell brand. Personal preference. I replaced the Penn 525 mag with the Penn squidder 15. The Penn jigmaster is a boat reel. Out of the box it’s not my personal choice for slinging bait in the surf. I find the Penn jigmaster to work very well with a chunk line. I been diagnosed with a severe case of boredom. Edited April 14 by BrakePad

BrakePad 0 Report post Posted April 17 “Ultralight trout fishing with spinners” When I was a kid I would catch and release 20 trout in a couple of hours. The kid’s not interested. I’m getting OT for Good Friday but not for Easter.

BrakePad 0 Report post Posted April 22 The rod took a good hit. I picked it up. I forgot that I was using a circle hook. The fish wrapped the bait again. As it got tight. I swung the rod to set the hook. Let me tell you. This is going to be a problem. I don’t like it at all. Not one bit.

BrakePad 0 Report post Posted April 29 I would come here with my father. The two of us fished one rod. On the shift of a tide we would always catch a bass this time of year. Maybe a 32” fish or 2 schollies. After I reeled it in. He would hold it up and I would take a picture of it. Forget about cell phones there weren’t even disposable cameras then. He would bring his fancy Cannon. I don’t know what ever happened with the pictures or his fancy camera. It’s been 10 years now that he’s gone and 10 years before he went through his 2nd divorce that ended in a train wreck. C’est la vie!
