Are people taking a risk buying a VF8 and VF9?

Exactly 48 hours after opening for sale, VinFast has received a total of 24,308 orders for two electric car models VF 8 and VF 9 globally. Among them, there are 15,237 applications for VF8 and 9,071 applications for VF9. This figure is only for the domestic market, excluding the US, Canada and Europe.

The only thing that might turn people off from the cars is the battery technology. VinFast didn’t reveal details about their battery tech or where it will be manufactured, but apparently they plan on having one in Vietnam. They already announced partnership with other EV makers like Panasonic or LG Chem to supply batteries for their EVs. (Duy comemnts: should reply with a link of news that VinFast just commenced phase of 1 the battery factory (gigafactory) in Ha Tinh, Vietnam)

I think such a car has a very good design compared to other EVs

 I agree. The figure of 24,000 orders is not too much for Vinfast if you think about what they are offering customers in terms of batteries - all of which are things that customers worry about EV.
