Hello all, my first post here on carforums.com. Just a heads up, I'm going to try to describe the problem in as much detail as I possibly can to give you a better picture of what went on.

To start out with, I am somewhat a proud owner of a Lincoln LS. However I've been having some issues with my car stalling out after the butcher shop (transmission shop) butchered my transmission after they pulled a bait and switch on me. I originally had problems with my car jerking when shifting between D and R or from R to P and they told me it'll cost me 895 for a simple rebuild. I agreed and after they dropped the tranny, they told me I had a bad torque converter and solenoid pack and it would cost me $1500. I told them to put the tranny back together. Time to pick up my car, I noticed the engine fan was running at max speed and the dash has an E where the gear indicator used to be along with a CEL. So I pulled out of the lot and noticed my car wont go past 1st gear no matter how far I pushed the gas. RPM goes up and no change in gear. A couple blocks away from home, I came to a stop light and I had to floor the accelerator to get the car moving. Going upward on a slight slope, my car violently shook and just quit leaving me stranded with a bunch of angry drivers behind me. Ever since then, my car has been stalling out every time I put it in gear. If it's in park, I can rev it up and it dosent quit. Only when I put it in Drive or Reverse, the car will roll, shake violently, and stall. I have to restart the car 3+ times just to get it parked correctly for alternate side parking here in NY. A computer scan revealed that it has an incorrect gear ratio on 4th and 5th gear (as if i can use those gears anymore), all solenoids failing, speed sensor failure, and a brake circuit failure. The gear ratio and brake circuit failure were there since before I bought the car to shop. I tried contacting the owner of the shop and he dosent respond to any of my phone calls.

So the big question: Any idea of whats causing my car to stall every time i put it in gear? Thanks all. I hope this forum will give me a sense of hope or atleast an idea of whats going on.
