I came over to do a detail on my friends mustang today. Upon opening the hood I noticed the filth of the engine. Instantly, I used a simple degreaser and rises then engine and let it run dry, ( I have done this repetitively to my own car). No check engine lights appeared. After the detail was finished she started it and stated the it shook baddly and the check engine light came on and almost stalled once. Plan on getting the code ran tomorrow. The engine is a 3.8. Any Idea what could be causing it for a possible fix tonight? Possible cam sensor? Thanks guys.

Change the spark plug wire and ignition coil. Even after have the same problem, then replace #2 cylinder with another one.

What? Replace #2 cylinder with another one? First off, why would you think it's #2, and not any of the other 5? Secondly, how would you just replace the cylinder? Do you mean piston? Or valves? And why would you say that after merely washing the outside of the engine?

Yeah, there's probably water in the ignition system. I doubt there's water in the engine, though it could have sucked some up.
