I didn't know if this was the proper forum, or general topics, please move if necessary.
If you look at my first post in the new member section, you will get an idea better, but I have come into a bunch of parts. When I say bunch, I don't mean a few boxes, I mean a few buildings full ! These are mostly body parts, trim, chrome, lights, etc, etc. Every conceivable part out there it seems, right down to tiny cadmium plated windshield washer spraying nozzles.
I hope to find help here to identify and maybe liquidate these parts after you guys get to know me. I had my own shop years ago, but don't fool with it much anymore. Knowledge of where and what these parts fit on is my goal. I am new to computers and have learned some of the picture posting things. I know that will help a great deal in I.D.'s of these parts.
Anyone up for helping with their knowledge of some of this through the next few months of inventorying these ? It is all to be sold eventually, and I might have something a real car guy needs or can't find that is original factory parts for your particular restoration project.
The Mercedes, Triumph, and Volvo parts I saw were excellent, as well as Chevy, Ford, and every other part you can think of from all makers. I am kind of excited to see if I can do this for the deceased guys family. They came to me for advice after he did his final burnout. He was one of the best body men in the country and worked for over 70 years, so the amount of parts in his shop was staggering. Matter of fact, he and I were the first people to ever install an opening sunroof on a Chevrolet pick-up truck in Houston Texas. We did my 1971 and we called it California Style Custom. It exploded on the scene in California and made some serious cash for him later on installs. My brother-in-law later joined him as his fiberglass man, coming from the Corvette world, and did the rocker rails ground effects and lowering on trucks for him. Ahh, those were the days when only your imagination stood in your way. Swept fins and air dams, sunroofs and custom paints to match your surfboards and bikini's.....I digress, yeah, I'm old now.
I hate to see it all go to waste or get throwed away. It needs to go to guys that need it. This is not a sales thread feeler, or about the money for me. I am retired and pretty much set for life, but the family asked me what to do with it all, and get what I could for it, for them. I have possession of it all at this time and wanted to find help I.D.ing it. Comments and advice welcome. Best regards,...Rip.
