Hello I am a new member, I own a Holden Viva 2007. I have been having problems for approx 6-7 weeks now. First I was told it showed up on their diagnostic equipment that I needed a computer control module. I had had it towed to a dealer, but upon them telling me it was going to cost a few dollars short of $2,000 I said I would get back to them. I rang around and received a much lesser quote. BUT they put a reconditioned module in and after collecting the car I found the car had the same symptoms. A light came on on the dash and it would go into LHMode. I took it back. They put my module back in and proceeded to test it again. The next thing was new plugs and Coil. I collected the car but only got down the road and same problem occurred. I was then told it was needing a new battery and alternator, that was put in and I collected the car. After 3 days same problem, it goes into LHmode. Gears won't change. Took it back and was told no its the transmission and sorry I don't do transmissions. Took it to a transmission specialist today and they are telling me it is the Computer control Module. The code is a solid code which will not erase P0700, so I now have a car I have paid a lot of money to get fixed with the same problem I had before. Can anyone help me or have you experienced any similar problems and what did you do.

You might want to try a different dealer.... or telling us exactly what the car does. Throwing us a code doesn't do much. Our Holden chap might chime in shortly...

Yeah well the viva is really from Holden's Korean arm, a Daewoo Lacetti. It's the early Cruze and the Nubira in Europe

Bad leads. plugs et al can throw a code on any modern engine, but it's a bit hard to apply that to a P0700 transmission code.
