Here's a short video on how to reset the Check Engine Light, On older cars, the check engine light can be reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 20 to 30 seconds. Take newer cars to an auto shop to have the check engine light reset with tips from a certified master mechanic in this free video on car maintenance.

Before some time, I used to face such a problem where I had to reset the light quite often. Consulted with quite a few mechanics, but could not find any appropriate and effective way, which could give a permanent solution. But ultimately I came to know about the same technique you have mentioned in the video. After applying that, the problem is rectified in a great way. I wont say its completely gone, but reduced a lot.
