This place seems very quiet since I was here last, are there any familiar faces (names) still about?
Was the spam issue finally sorted??

Well if it is any encouragement, the place looks much better now.
Has anything newsworthy besides the spam issue happened since I have been away?

That sounds good, it would be great to see this place get back to how it was. If there is anything at all I can do to help, let me know

Looks like things are starting to pick up again which is nice. How is that Alfa treating you?

it's all teh time. I dont' even bother with warning, just ban the obvious spammers and delete the posts. I've left the posts of people/bots that merely have advertising in their sigs, but giant topics for pharmaceuticals or clothing? Gone instantly.

Got rid of the Alfa, as you probably saw in my latest thread. Was a great car, but too many potentials to go wrong, not to mention a cambelt interval reduced to 36,000-miles from 76,000-miles indicating that they were prone to failure. And as mine had like 80,000 on the clock with no record of having been changed, I believe I was about to luck out (I've NEVER changed a cambelt on any of my cars hehe). Garage wanted £400 to do the job too....;(

Yeah I saw that just after I posted here. That is fair enough, it is not worth paying nearly as much what you did on the car on repairs. What happened to it in the end? Did you manage to sell it?
A cambelt is a horrible job to do

Yup, sold her for £595 I think. I actually saw it on Ebay a few months ago. Had what looked like battle scars from last years snow (broken front indicator lense) but other than that was okay. the bloke that bought if off me was going to use it to commute to work at Heathrow Airport everyday (about a 40-mile round trip at least)....Not sure what the cambelt would have said about that, but he didn't ask, lol.
Cambelts are a nightmare, especially if you don't have access to special tools and ramps etc, that's why I don't do them and would rather a car without one! I certainly wouldn't want to pay a garage to do it, given how much they can charge, and somewhere like Mr Clutch who seem to do it for a cheap fixed price, seem like cowboys, lol.
