You should ensure that the timing belt has been replaced once or replace it immediately. Also if you just bought it I recommend changing all the fluids (oil, coolant, brake, etc.). If I'm not mistaken, I believe the engine in your car is a twin-turbo, and also having an experience with these Volvos I would probably recommend taking it in to a dealer or Volvo specialty shop of some kind for a general look-over inspection.
I personally wouldn't count on it lasting another 100k, knowing these cars, but you'll certainly get your money's worth out of it.
Keep us posted on the car! Would love to see some pics.

Volvos can run to silly mileages if you look after them - make sure you do an oil and filter change (with decent oil) every 6k or so.
I don't know much about the T6 engine, but I know the T5 can suffer from the PCV breather system going (take the dipstick out when the engine is warm and look for smoke), but besides that they are good for 200k +

My T5 still hasn't done the PCV thing (fingers crossed).

6k is pessimistic. These engines are SUPPOSED to use synthetic so 10k is the norm.

You are right - 10k would be the norm, but if I were running an older car to the ground I would service it more regularly.
What Volvo have you got the T5 in? Had a go in an 850R recently, great fun!

I have an '04 XC90 which I love to death and hope nothing happens to. The car has no power but a bit of torque, and it gets pretty decent economy and can still pass cars if need be. I was also about to buy a C30 T5 but decided to get my Infiniti instead, too much $ to blow on a first car.
