I want to get subwoofers in my 2dr jimmy but I don't know much about them or what to get. There isn't much room behind the back seats because of my spare so would one be enough? What brand sub and amps should I get? I was thinking of Memphis or Rockford subs, but have no idea about amps. Any ideas (I don't want to put too much money into this..around $300)?

Yeah that is what I was afraid of. I could put more into it but I am getting a new car when I graduate in a year so I don't want to put thousands into it. Any suggestions?

Back when I was a teenager (10 years ago) I put 2 Fosgate 12" and a Sony Xplod 760 in my Neon. I think I spent around $500 for the speakers, amp, wiring and I made the box. For a low budget but name brand setup it REALLY pounded, The cop that busted me even said it was good, then he gave me an $80 ticket. You have an ideal vehicle for subs, the more volume you have inside your vehicle the farther you will go with less. You should raise your price range though, ED is right, for $300 you will get shitty components and it will sound horrible. When you get the system do everyone a favor and put something behind your license plate because that will rattle and make your car sound like shit
