Hi experts out there,
I have lost (yes idiot is the word) the key to the wheel lock nuts on my Honda cr-v 1997-8. Have been quoted a lot of £s by the dealer .Would very much appreciate
to know if there is any other way to undo the nuts or if there is anything on market that will do the job.thanks.

if you go to your local auto parts store, they have a socket called a twist socket. pound it on with a hammer, and when you turn it, it has reverse twist so it gets tighter on the nut. or most dealers have a master set of keys

Thanks Matt I will look for the twist socket. Am sure dealers have master key but to quote me for min. two hours of labour @£80 an hour plus £30 for new set of nuts
I was surprised .

It doesn't actually take half an hour, I hope.

Matt is right with the bolt extractor. If you lost your key your going to spend a lot of money getting a new one, plus getting the old ones off. Those sockets will zip the nuts off like a regular nut. Do that first and then go to an auto part store and get a locking set for $30 or so. If you want to go really low-tech-old school, I've seen it done many times with an air hammer laugh.gif

Yep, I never go anywhere without my trusty cordless rattlegun in the boot. Will whip those nuts off in no time, which also beggers the question about how relevent keyed nuts are to a thief in the first place.
