clicky........
The series boss has put invites for new manufacturers to enter the series, to end the Holden-Ford duo that have run it for the past 17 years (last time was the red skyline pictured in the link that was driven by Mark Skaife)
but the rumours on who have been invited currently points to Hyundai and KIA, i cant imagine a KIA with a 5L V8 somehow laugh.gif

The Genesis has good numbers (RWD rolleyes.gif ) but in Motortrend/Car & Driver ect. It has only been pinned up against a new V6 Mustang, like that is the only car it can compete with (and it lost). But Kia has a LONG way to go before they are taken seriously in motorsports.

The Koreans have been making big strides. I see no reason for the trend to stop.

But KIA has a works team in Slovakia that enter hill climb events in a 2L diesel Kia Cerato,

and then there is the Kia Forte Koup that will enter in this years Grand-Am Koni challenge (which will be the first Kia raced n US soil)

I think it will be great having a wider field. There are mumblings Ford will pull out, because they can't afford the cost. I would hazzard a guess thre will need to be some rules relaxation for Hyundai to get a ticket.

I'm looking forward to the race at Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi 18th Feb

I'm thinking I might visit a mate there and write it off as a business trip (he's the project manager for the big construction stuff).
