[font="Comic Sans MS"][/font][size="5"][/size]I have recently replaced the egr valve on my car with a secondhand hand one now a month later i am getting the same problem the diasnostics is showing faulty egr valve again what cause the egr valve to go wrong any ideas ???? mikey sad.gif

What do you mean it's a secondhand EGR? You went to the junkyard? Usually they clog up with carbon and the valve sticks.

yes it was from a junkyard but it was off a fairly new car

There's your problem. You are buying a part from a junkyard that you shouldn't buy used. Some things you just have to buy new, and this is one. Since we don't have Vauxhall's over here I don't know what a new one would cost but it would be well worth your time to check into it. If they are expensive, it has been said that you can clean them with thottle body cleaner and a tooth bush and a pick of some sort.

thats buy it now price but there are genuine vauxhall ones for £99 but check that its for your car
