> 1989 Pontiac Bonneville
Posted by Ellen's Mommy - 03-9-10 23:16 - 0 comments
Ok here is what is going on. I just bought a used 1989 Pontiac Bonneville about a month ago and it ran fine for the first couple weeks. Then I was about an hour from home and stopped at Taco Bell and when I was going to leave the car would not start. A man that was there looked at it and said that the battery was fine but the car was not getting gas. I was just about to call a tow truck when the man messed with the fuses and it started right up. I took it home and it ran fine for about a week and then I went to a baby shower and when I was leaving it happened again. I pushed in all the fuses and it started again. That happened again a couple days later and same thing, I mess with the fuses and it started after like ten times of trying. Ok so 3 days ago I tried to start it and it would not start again. I pushed every fuse in a ton of times and it would not start. I called my ex ( his new girlfriend is the one I bought it from) and he told me to try to start it really fast over and over again. I did that and it started. He thought it might be the starter but then today I was going about 45 mph and it just died. The radio and lights and everything stayed on but the engine was off. I pulled over and put it in park and tried to start it again and it did what it would do before, it would act like it was going to start but wouldnt. I tried a few more times and still nothing. I called my ex and it took him about ten mins to get there and when he got there it started fine. I drove it home and it was fine and then I drove it to the store a few hours later and it was still fine. What could make it do this? Im going to take it to my mechanic on Thursday but I would like to get some opinions on what everything thinks. Thank you!
